Jim Wallace sings the Lead and emcees for Higher
Ground. He is married to Doneda and has three children. Jim works for the local electrical co-op as
Manager of Operations.
He is a deacon in his home church and also serves on the Cumberland Unit 77
school board. Jim has been known throughout the central Illinois area as a soloist and regularly ministered through music at area revivals before helping to form Higher Ground.
Steve Wheeler sings the Tenor for Higher Ground. He is married
to Kim and has two children. Steve is originally from Macon, Georgia and relocated to Illinois in the spring of 1992. Steve
has an Associates in Applied Science Degree in IT/Network Administration and
works for the Cumberland CUSD#77. He is a deacon in his home church. Steve sang in various groups at his home church in Georgia and has led music in revival services since moving to Illinois.
Brad Groves sings the Bass for Higher Ground. Brad is married
to Susan and has four children. He works for
Eastern Illinois University and also farms. Brad was brought up in a musical family and was singing at an early age. He is an
elder and a sound engineer in his home church.
He enjoys horseback riding and watching RFD TV!!
Richard Richter sings the Baritone and plays the keyboard for Higher Ground. Richard is
married to Tiffany and has two daughters. He works
for the local U.S.D.A. office and
also works on the family
farm with his dad. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Agriculture and Music. Richard is an accomplished pianist and also plays the French Horn and Trumpet. He is
an elder and the pianist for his home church. Richard also plays for many local revivals and special services.
We thank God for the Ministry that He has given us. We appreciate every opportunity to witness for our Lord. We are looking forward to meeting you and sharing the "Good News" through song and testimony.
